A 34 paged document entitled Investment Guidelines and Opportunities in Zimbabwe by the Government of Zimbabwe, signed by His Excellency E.D Mnangagwa, the President of Zimbabwe in January 2018 has been circulating in social media. In short, Zimbabwe is open to foreign investment and is definitely open for business!
The priority areas of Investment are mining, manufacturing, agriculture tourism, ICT and Infrastructural development. A lot of business opportunities were relayed including relaxed business registration in Zimbabwe as a foreigner and intended changes to the Indeginization Policy in some sectors and to some products, I have chosen to highlight one business opportunity.
While it is tailor made for foreign investors, I see it as an opportunity for the local businessmen and women investors or industries to partner with foreign investors to promote business ownership by Zimbabweans themselves. Thus the importance of being strategically positioned as I mentioned in https://tatutsani.com/2017/12/01/the-new-zimbabwe-do-something.
That said, food for thought:
What other business opportunities does such an investment bring in support of manufacturing business? https://tatutsani.com/2017/12/15/business-in-zimbabwe-where-there-is-a-problem-there-is-an-opportunity
